2015 Sang de Pigeon Shiraz, Barossa Valley
Grown on reddish-brown earth over sedimentary bedrock on the Seppeltsfield/Greenock boundary. Poor winter rains and a warm spring heralded a very early vintage, with rain in early January bringing four weeks of ideal cooler weather. Open fermenter and truncated oak vat, matured for 20 months in barrel and blended with 15% Eden Valley fruit. No fining or filtration.
