2022 Michael Hall Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, Piccadilly
Sourced from Gully Road at 550m elevation and the lilliputian Aesctun vineyard at 500m. Adelaide Hills vineyards at such elevations belong in a rarified group of extremely cool climate sites ideally suited to the Pinot Noir grape. Fair winter rains were followed by a mild summer. Yields were low with light bunches of excellent quality.
For wine nerds like me: Hand-picked on the 22nd and 28th of March, wild yeast fermented in closed puncheons and open fermenter, 38% whole bunch, matured for 11 months in French oak (23% new, François Frères). Unfined.
1710 bottles produced.
Shipping: 1-11 bts $12 SA, $20 VIC & NSW, $25 WA, $27 QLD.
