2010 Michael Hall Barossa Valley Shiraz, Stone Well
A classic Barossa vintage that is just starting to show its real potential at this time. Good winter rains gave us strong healthy vines and a very warm period in November kick started the flowering season.
The entire ripening season was warm with little or no disease pressure and the Triangle Block in Stone Well was hand-picked relatively early on 19 February. Wild yeast fermented, pressed to barrel, 24 months in French oak (30% new Francois Freres), 16 months on lees, unfiltered.
Red fruited, goji berry, game meats, spice and pepper with superb length of tannin.
