2012 Michael Hall Barossa Valley Shiraz, Stone Well
The Triangle Block vineyard lies in the Stone Well Valley on the eastern edge of the Seppeltsfield sub-region. It has a gentle northerly aspect and is coloured terracotta red by the distinct, iron-rich soils over clay found in parts of the northern and western ridge Barossa.
Good winter rains and average temperatures throughout the growing season ensured strong, healthy vines and crisp, bright fruit. Hand-picked on 27 February, wild yeast fermented, 11% whole bunch, pressed to barrel, 24 months in French oak (33% new), no fining or filtration.
3800 bottles produced.
