“…mouthfilling sauvignon blanc of rare quality” James Halliday

We've just endured three sweltering days over 40 degrees here in Tanunda and while the fridge is still managing to tick along, keeping the Sauv Blanc cold is top priority. A consistent thirst quencher at home. Built for summer.

With heavy reds currently off the menu, Pinot glides onto centre stage. Fleshy, spicy, light and bright. The Sang de Pigeon Pinot Noir from the smart 2019 vintage is available now and ready to drink.

With more hot weather on the horizon and likely Christmas postal delays ahead, order now and get stuck in to these two delicious wines.

2019 Michael Hall Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, Piccadilly & Lenswood $38
"This is a beautifully elegant white wine, with precise, lemon-cream and chalky mineral qualities...Oysters, please"
Max Allen, Australian Financial Review

“From two vineyards: Ben's Block part-fermented on skins, the remainder pressed and fermented in barrel, and the Hill Block tank-fermented, matured for 9 months in barrel. Suffice it to say this is a delicious, mouthfilling sauvignon blanc of rare quality.”
96/100 James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2021

Picked on 6 March (Lenswood) and 12 March (Piccadilly). Half fermented in tank, half fermented and matured in French oak puncheons. All wild yeast, 18% fermented on skins. Filtered. Bouquet of oyster shell, nettle bed and winter greens. Palate notes of spicy, floral talcum and dried orange. Delicious. 1960 bottles produced
